I'll be honest, I liked the notion behind Fiverr.com.

Just a couple clicks and a customer can set an order with a freelancer according to a particular set of deliverables.

Easy peasy, right? Sure, but it comes at a cost. A major one.

That is just one the couple freelance platforms at which buyers are given free reign to abuse, threaten and outright blackmail vendors any way they like.

Why? Because Fiverr turn a blind eye on it.

In this informative article, I wish to share a new bad experience for a vendor on Fiverr, and why I chose to give up on the stage entirely.

(I have been guiding her on building up a reputable account, and the way to go above and beyond every last order. Everything stated is that her doing, I'm just an observer.)

In cases like this, she'd just gotten another $5 sequence on her emblem gig, which appeared to be just like another... or so we believed.

The purchase was fulfilled in good time, and my buddy had even included a bonus emblem concept as well as the source file (that is usually a part of the more expensive bundle ).

The customer"loved" one of those concepts and so we moved to deliver her the appropriates file sizes, as stated in the gig description.

The customer came back requesting a social networking kit to go with the logo, something that is obviously not available as a member of her gig.

Against my advice, my girlfriend chose to provide the further job, despite not getting paid any extra for this.

After that, the customer responded with more requirements and a few alterations to the social networking files.

At this point, she consented enough was enough.

Despite every effort to please this person, they have been clearly overstepping their bounds here.

This is when the customer went from only overstepping boundaries to unquestionable blackmail. (The equivalent of taking my girlfriend Fiverr reputation hostage.)

While she took a while to ponder a reply and reach to Fiverr support for assistance, the customer did finally go on and render a 1 star review.

Presumably this was to demonstrate her he/she was Fiverr Review: Is It The Best Site To Get Freelance Jobs In 2018? not kidding.

Shortly after, while still waiting on Fiverr's answer to the support query, the customer paid an additional $10 to your social networking kit.

Of course, the payment was accompanied by yet another threat.

At this point, all I wanted to do was move all Liam Neeson and search this individual down so that I could repeatedly punch them from the face.

However, in the time, I had hope that Fiverr service could step in and rescue my girlfriend out of this PITA client.

After the response came from Fiverr support, they told her they could Fiverr Review – Is This A Good Opportunity Or Big Scam? SEO Spark not induce the buyer to accept the purchase.

Okay, that is reasonable enough. (though the buyer accepted it.)

In addition they proposed drawing up a listing for the purchaser to reveal the work has been completed in accordance with the gig prerequisites.

My girlfriend hauled in her initial email that the customer was attempting to extort her to get free work out the agreed periods, by making a negative review if she did not comply.

Obviously, it was not really about the job, it was about seeking protection in an abusive customer who was blatantly pushing his luck.

Their answer didn't provide either of us any assurance that Fiverr actually understood , and even at this stage we felt as though they didn't wish to get involved.

At the exact same time, she responded to the buyers most recent danger, explaining that she would not continue to function with them unless the feedback had been changed/removed.

(Again, this can be comments that has been clearly and blatantly left to bully her to providing function out the agreed provisions )

A fair request by anyones standards, appropriate? Well, apparently not.

Rather than acknowledge what the buyer had done up until this time, Fiverr instantly turned the tables on my girlfriend.

Turns out, she had been the one breaking all the rules.

Because she'd asked the customer to modify their feedback, she was no longer entitled to any assistance from Fiverr support.

It is possible to imagine how we felt studying this.

What the buyer had done and said prior to her very last message was now being swept under the rug -- as if never happened at all.

Fiverr essentially opted to encourage a manipulative bully, leaving my girlfriend using a permanent stain in an accounts she'd worked so hard to accumulate.

If everything that occurred wasn't troubling enough, it is knowing that this individual is still running rampant on Fiverr, preying on defensless vendors with no sprinkling of repercussion.

And believe me, there are tons of buyers doing precisely that on Fiverr, knowing they can and will get away with it.

But as most of this was occurring, I did a little investigating to find out if any other vendors went through a similar ordeal with an individual buyer.

Very quickly, I found a variety of nearly equal cases about the Fiverr forum outdated years back. (that's correct, decades.)

This is clearly something which's been happening for a long time and it all stems from giving buyers too much power over vendors.

If there's one thing I have learned about Fiverr, it's that clients are ALWAYS more valued than freelancers.

Regardless of how much time you put into a job, or just how hard you worked on itor even how long you managed communication in a dispute, when it actually comes down to it... freelancers have little to no protection.

Even if it is a clear cut case in your favour, there is still every chance the client will come out at the top. It takes it one little thing you"did wrong" according to their conditions of service and EVERYTHING else is visit the site ignored

Taking a look at the evidence, it is clear to me that Fiverr is well aware of what is happening, yet is still willing to sit back and let it happen.

A Final Message To Fiverr. If you are a decision maker in Fiverr and you're reading this, I urge you to seriously reevaluate your present support procedures for freelancers.

It is not right that somebody can set all the time and effort in building up an account and over-delivering at every conceivable opportunity, only to be taken down by the very people that you rely on to protect you.

Look, I really don't want to abandon Fiverr. I really don't wish to be telling folks to prevent your system.

But after everything that has occurred, you have not left me any selection.

Until something is done in order to safeguard freelancers from using this sort of abuse, I'll continue to propagate this post and do whatever I can to stop others from falling victim to your one-sided support staff.

The next you actually do something about this and provide freelancers a means to fight back, I will be happy to update this article.
